AJ Racing provides 3 flexible ways to be part of the team, making it easy to get involved whether you're just starting out or already an experienced kart owner. However you choose to run with us, every driver enjoys the same awning space, coaching, and setup support at the track.
AJ Racing offers kart hire and experience days for female drivers aged 8+. Hire is simple: arrive & drive while your mechanic handles the seat fit, safety checks, and kart maintenance. Our package includes tyres, fuel, awning space, mechanic support, and coaching, with the track fee payable to the circuit. We specialise in Rotax classes and also offer a KZ2 shifter kart for experienced drivers wanting a thrilling bucket list experience!
AJ Racing provides kart preparation, storage, and transport for kart owners on both test days and race weekends. If the driver has a mechanic, they can enjoy arriving to the circuit with a kart ready to go, similarly to our hire package, or choose to do their own mechanicing once at the track. This works well for parents or drivers with mechanical know-how but don’t have the facilities to store and transport a kart themselves.
AJ Racing offers a trackside support package for drivers who store and transport their own kart but want professional help at the circuit. This service provides awning space, setup advice, and coaching to help drivers perform at their best. It’s ideal for those who have already built strong skills and are now looking to take the next step, benefitting from expert input while staying hands-on and self-sufficient in their karting.

The 125 Micromax class is a great starting point for 8-12 year olds getting into competitive karting. The 9.5 hp is reliable, cost effective and very forgiving of driving mistakes. The on/ off switch is simple to use for the younger drivers. The AJ Racing hirable Micromax is fitted to a Sodi 950 chassis which can reach speeds of 55mph. The class uses the new Vega cadet tyres which offer consistent grip while being very durable which keeps costs down.
The 125 Minimax class, for 10-13 year olds, offers more speed than the Micromax class but remains on the 950 chassis. The grippier Mojo C2 tyre replaces the Vega cadet tyre which, along with a few other minor changes, makes Minimax 3 to 4 seconds quicker per lap than Micromax; great preparation to move up to the Junior class.
Junior Rotax enables drivers aged 12+ to jump into a full sized kart for the first time. As well as the step up in kart size, these engines produce 23hp - almost double that of the Minimax! AJ Racing has an MS Kart Junior Rotax available for hire which is a driver friendly kart used by JDR who AJ Racing has great links with.
Drivers aged 15+ can participate in this highly competitive class which offers 30hp to play with. A power valve and the high grip Mojo yellow tyre allow drivers to reach speeds of 75mph on many UK circuits!
KZ2 is the most popular gearbox karting class. The 6-speed 125cc engine enables drivers to accelerate from 0-60mph in less than 4s and reach the 90mph on standard kart circuits (known as short circuit gearbox) and up to 110mph on long circuits such as Silverstone, Donington and Oulton Park. While KZ2 provides a good oportunity for drivers to learn gears before stepping up to car racing, it's also commonly used by proffessional racers wanting to stay fit. With there being around 30 gear changes per lap on most UK circuits and no suspension in a kart, you can see why!
